ASSISTANCE

If you are involved in any of the events listed above, or have accidently put the wrong fuel in your vehicle, there is a specific process you must follow. You will also receive an 'In an Emergency' booklet when you collect your vehicle.

Incidents relating to tyres or glass

  1. Contact Peugeot’s 24/7 Assistance call centre to obtain a claim number and authorisation to arrange repairs (in some cases you could be asked to pay for the repair, ideally on your credit card).

  2. Ensure all receipts include the Contract Holders full name and vehicle registration number.

  3. Keep hold of the original receipt and forward to Peugeot EuroLease on your return home, with cover letter detailing the incident, Assistance claim number (please take a copy of everything first) and your bank account details.

  4. You will be reimbursed directly into your bank account within 3-4 weeks of Peugeot EuroLease receiving the original receipt/s.

Note: Unauthorised repair costs will not be reimbursed.

Incidents relating to a mechanical problem or breakdown

  1. Contact Peugeot’s 24/7 Assistance call centre to report the problem and receive help to find and get to the nearest Peugeot garage.

  2. Repair costs are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty and should not be charged to you.

  3. Depending on the vehicle’s diagnosis Assistance will arrange, at their cost, either accommodation (max €60/night) or a rental car (to a limit of €915) until your vehicle is repaired. Once the repair is complete you must return your rental car and take back your vehicle from the Peugeot garage of repair.
(If it is known that your vehicle cannot be repaired prior to the end of your lease, in some cases a replacement Peugeot will be provided, however this is not always possible due to availability constraints and/or the length of time it takes to register, insure and deliver a vehicle.)
Close liaison with Assistance is required so they are aware of your plans throughout the process.

Incidents relating to an accident, fire or theft of the vehicle

  1. Contact Peugeot’s 24/7 Assistance call centre to report the incident and receive help.

  2. You must obtain a police report plus an accident report must be completed/signed by all parties (provided on vehicle collection). 3. The Assistance solution is subject to many factors including where the incident has occurred and how long a repair is likely to take. Depending on the situation Assistance will arrange, at their cost, either accommodation (max €60/night) or a rental car (to a limit of €915) until your vehicle is repaired.

  4. Any towing or repair costs should not be charged to you, however if they are please ensure they have been authorised by Assistance and original receipts are kept for reimbursement. Receipts must include the Contract Holder’s name and vehicle registration number.

  5. If you were asked to pay for anything, on your return home please forward original receipts to Peugeot EuroLease with cover letter detailing the incident, Assistance claim number (please take a copy of everything first) and your bank details.

Note: Unauthorised repair costs will not be reimbursed.

IMPORTANT POINTS

  • If you have a problem (as noted above) whilst in Europe, your plans will have to be modified without compensation while our Assistance call centre (24/7) and Customer Care head office (Mon-Fri, excluding holidays) find a solution within the process and limits of Peugeot's insurance and assistance package.

  • Any sort of misuse of the vehicle, whether intended or not (including damage to the clutch), is not covered by Peugeot’s Assistance package. For example, a burnt clutch can easily cost €1800 to repair.

  • Any phone call costs associated with contacting Peugeot Assistance are at your cost and are not reimbursed by Peugeot. Please therefore ensure you are not using a New Zealand SIM card, otherwise you will find call costs could add to the hundreds of dollars.

  • If a rental car is required, while your Peugeot is being repaired, the terms of rental will be different to that of your lease vehicle. Please ensure you take care when signing rental car agreements and ensure you are aware of their age limits, countries where you can drive the vehicle, insurance excess amount/conditions, fuel policy (eg. receive full tank, return with full tank) etc.

  • Minimum and maximum driver age restrictions with rental car companies may prevent the provision of a rental car for some customers.

  • Any unauthorised repair costs will not be reimbursed.

  • Please ensure you have good travel insurance that will cover items that Peugeot’s insurance/assistance package excludes.

  • Personal belongings are not included – please arrange your own travel insurance for this.

Your Peugeot insurance policy expires at midnight on the last date detailed on your insurance document. If you wish to keep your vehicle for longer this must be arranged at least 4 working days in advance – details in your documentation pack.
Note: You are liable for any civil, material and criminal costs/actions if you fail to arrange an extension prior to the end of your contracted period.
